Compassion is a sense of shared suffering, most often combined with a desire to alleviate or reduce the suffering of another; to show special kindness to those who suffer. Compassion essentially arises through empathy, and is often characterized through actions, wherein a person acting with compassion will seek to aid those they feel compassionate for.

my half marathon training: 5 miles. your full marathon training: 12 miles. but you decided to go all out and run with an organized half marathon event. in an effort to keep pace, i followed my run with a 90 minute bikram session. today, we both kicked butt.

today’s theme is smoothies because i drank 3 smoothies (2 blueberry, 1 vanilla banana protein) and learned there is an instrumental song called “smoothie song” by nickel creek…serendipitous that i discovered this song on my 3 smoothie day with NO SOLID FOODS. serendipity can be like that…

i was hoping the yoga would help me not have soreness in my legs, in lieu of an ice bath. i did think to take a cold shower after the run to keep muscle fiber micro tear soreness to a minimum. but this is early September in Arizona. there are no cold showers until maybe October. you know how you have to let the water run for awhile for it to heat up? here we have to let it run for awhile for it to cool down. but there’s no water cooling device to do this, so it’s just not possible for a “cold” shower in the summer.

smoothie recipe

1 serving Jillian Michael’s Vanilla Cream Shake Whey Protein

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 banana

1.5 cup frozen blueberries

blend until blue

friend who can relate to small and large group-triggered out-of-body experiences. must have good grammar and an aversion for texting shorthand. loves writing, loves words, loves writing words. not intimidated by the thought of learning to swim 1.2 miles at 43. does not believe in using phrases like “i’m too old to…” must have character and depth. discipline, drive and performance-related fitness level preferred. would not balk at the opportunity to eat sushi at least once a week. kind enough to say that paper towels would make the perfect practical gift. must love dogs. and ABBA. no LOL-types need apply.
